Goodness, it’s been a while! My, how you’ve grown!
Sorry.
Right. So, after spending five hours in the Philadelphia airport, I made some sock progress.
These socks are made with TOFUtsies yarn which, as it turns out, gives a nice cotten-y feel to the finished product. What is not so nice is that I was distracted by the large “TOFU” part of the description so that I did not actually read what was in this yarn when I bought it during an “I’m-going-to-buy-vegan-yarn” spree. Le sigh. This is not vegan….it is 50% wool and it also has a thread made from crab shells. Very unvegan. But, let’s move on from that fact as I am knitting these socks for LG who is not a vegan nor a vegetarian, so I will just deal for now. I really like the colors, they make me think of carving pumpkins or something.
I just tried them on and now I think I made them too small.
I also wanted to show you that I have made progress on the Blue Welt socks! After knitting the first sock too long, cutting the toe off, and re-knitting the toe, I am happy with how they fit. Sort of. Truth be told, I don’t think I like the toe-up heel-flap thing. This is unfortunate. And depressing. Maybe I just need to practice?
In other unfortunate news, I don’t think I like the gauge for my Palindrome Scarf. I know, I am never happy, am I? So I am considering two options. ONE: keep what I’ve knit so far, but change to a garter stitch and just have the lovely cables at the ends of the scarf. Or, TWO: Rip the damn scarf out and go back to the next needle size up which I tried before and thought it was too loose. Suggestions?
Man, I didn’t mean for this to be a pathetic blog entry, but I am sounding a bit lame at the moment. I just need to embrace the idea of swatching…the lying SOBs that they are….
Next…the hunt for the Iron Work sock yarn!

To lift your spirits a bit, you should have a tea package waiting on you when you get home.
Well, I’m assuming that you’re not at home. LOL Although, you might be home by now. I’m rambling. I’ll go now.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it makes it to you safely. Although, now I realize that in my haste to put together the second package, I sent you something not vegan. *smacks forehead* Just shoot me now. LOL
